Hi, I'm Lisa!

Hi there! I'm Lisa Boeglin, though for years, my students affectionately called me Mrs. Bagel – my last name, "Boeglin," is pronounced "BAY-glin," so it just made sense! I'm a former Indiana Teacher of the Year, and I've always had a deep love for nature, art, and exploring the world. And yes, I'm a self-proclaimed BAT NERD! And as a history enthusiast and a natural storyteller, I'm passionate about sharing stories.
I live in southern Indiana with my husband and our wonderfully spoiled fur-baby. I'm also the proud mom of four grown children and "BeeBee" to two very special grandchildren.
From the moment I started reading picture books aloud to my students, I knew I wanted to see my own name on a cover, to bring my own stories to life for young readers everywhere. Now, as a retired elementary teacher with a master's in Early Childhood Education, I'm doing just that. I also continue to inspire future educators as an adjunct instructor at a local community college, and I've been fortunate enough to lead professional development sessions for teachers across all levels. When I'm not writing or making memories with my grandkids, you'll find me out exploring new places, working in my garden, or tucked away in my Evansville home, pouring my heart into crafting picture books filled with history and wonder.
